And what is the child's play? First of all, it is voluntary activity because the child enters into it willingly. The game is free from the urgent needs of the child and any set goals. Child's play has a very large and you could say irreplaceable importance in the overall development of the child. The difference between games and other activities is that the game is free, spontaneous activity that is an end in itself. The pleasure that is the result of the game is the only one aware of the reason why the child plays.

The nature of children's games is a complex which includes the existence of numerous functions. The first is educational because the child acquires knowledge through the game, skills, experience, adopt hygienic habits, language, cultural and social characteristics of the group in which he lives and accepted behavior in it. In the first few months of life, a baby's game consists mainly of joyful motor movements with the gradual introduction of his fingers, and later, towards the end of the first year, starting to play with toys. How do you baby can not tell you what it wants, attention should be pointing to the non-verbal signs - follow all your baby love and supportive of the matter is how facial gestures (smile) and verbally what you do, react to her the babble, imitate the movements performed , discover toys and their characteristics (eg. sounds). For this period are recommended games with sound toys and those that highlight the bright colors.

At the age of 1 to 3 years, the child still does not know how to express their ideas, and he needs the support of an adult. As early as the first year children walk at the same time become more and more active in the game. During this period, children enjoy playing with different dishes, stuffed toys, balls, balloons. As early as the second year of a child can be a long time to spend in the game, expanding the range of interests for toys and appear first in-game social contacts with other children. Around the third year, there are imagination and dramatization - "Games make-believe things" in which children toys combine in various ways, it is good to be among the toys your child are copies of real objects (fruits, vegetables, cooking dishes, accessories for the doctor, the hairdresser ...).

Giving a child  partner in the stories of fairies, dragons, princesses ...

Around five years, the interest of the child for a particular game becomes more stable and more durable, so it can happen that you are asked to play the same game for days. The child is already able to play by the rules, so you can spend time together in social games (dominoes, memory games, etc.). By the end of preschool age, the game is more complicated and creative play reaches its climax. Support your child in drawing, painting, construction, testimony, hearsay ... For this period are also characteristic cooperative games.

The modern way of life largely away parents and children, there is less time to spend together. In that sense, trying to give away your toddler quality time you spend with him - in a common game, but not parallel activities. Sometimes parents fall into the trap, so they spend hours and hours "with" their child. However, the child will mean many more minutes you will actually spend "with" him. Kids definitely feel when they're really dedicated, but rather when you 'do' things. Separate part of the day when you will be dedicated exclusively to your child, let him get it chooses games and activities that will engage in together, follow him and actively participate without intending to take the lead.
